One of the most beautiful and serene versions of this chant that I have heard is by the monks at the Yogananda Satsanga Society of India. They would begin the prayer sessions with this chant and it would transport me to a different ethereal world. Paramahansa Yogananda (Author of 'An Autobiography of a Yogi') - A remarkable Guru who continues to guide and steer mankind towards the path of spirtualism has very beautifully put together some beautiful verses in the Cosmic Chants. This is his version that I have sung.
On the occasion of his birthday 5th Jan 2016 and the Kanchi Mahaswami's Aradhana day 6th Jan 2016, this is my prayer to all the Beloved Guru's!
Brahmanandam parama sukhadam kevalam jnanamurtim
dvandvaateetam gagana sadrusam tatvamasyadi lakshy
ekam nityam vimala machalam sarvadheesaakshibuutam
bhaavaateetam triguna rahitam sadgurum tam namaami.
Full of bliss, giving joy transcendent,
Of higher knowledge, the abode,
Dual no more, clear as the heavens,
Known to all as: “Thou art That”.
He is pure, permanent, unmoving,
The everlasting Seer of all,
Far, far beyond qualities and thought,
Guru-Lord, I bow to Thee.
(Poetic translation from the Cosmic Chants)
